Rogelio Dávila earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Essex, England, in 1995, his thesis was on formal semantics analysis of natural language discourse based on constructive mathematics. He also earned his M.Sc. in Intelligent Knowledge Based Systems from the same university in 1987. His bachelors degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering  is from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in 1981.

Dr. Dávila currently works as a lecturer of the Information Technologies Department at ITESM, campus Guadalajara. He worked before for two years as a researcher of the Information Systems Departement at the Universidad de Guadalajara, Campus CUCEA. Before he served for 2 years as a visiting professor at the Computer Science Department at the University of Texas at El Paso. He was formerly chairman of the Computer Systems Engineering Department at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLA) where he served for 15 years.

His main research area is formal semantics for natural language processing, he is interested in logic programming, semantic Web, artificial intelligence and e-Commerce.
